CONNECT 1-2-1

Allancia was delighted to support the Welsh Assembly Government's, New Technologies in Healthcare conference by supplying a CONNECT 1-2-1 at Events meeting management system to handle the organisation and delivery of the delegate 1-2-1 brokerage meetings.

The conference, which was held in the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff on May the 13th, was focused on the application of new technologies in healthcare, highlighting key advances and practical applications of radio frequency identification (RFID) and micro and nanotechnology (MNT).

116 delegate organisations registered for the brokerage meetings which ran from 11.30 till 5pm. Those delegate organisations booked via the Allancia designed event website www.partners4healthcare.com over 230 separate 1-2-1 meeting requests. Initial plans for the event were to provide meetings in 30 minute slots. But as a result of the demand for meetings the CONNECT 1-2-1 system was flexible enough to amend the meeting slots to be 15 minutes in length.

Ieuan Wyn Jones, Wales' Deputy First Minister highlighted the 1-2-1 meeting option in the event programme Forward. He said "For the first time the conference is offering delegates the opportunity to meet potential business partners and academics right across Europe in pre arranged one-to-one meetings to discuss the take up of new technologies, which could result in a number of exciting collaborations and commercial projects being agreed on for the healthcare sector in Wales."

The system that was used to deliver the meeting organisation was Allancia and its CONNECT 1-2-1 at Events solution.

Denise Roberts, Tax Partner at Cardiff based PKF (UK) LLP who was one of the delegates attending the brokerage meetings summed up the 1-2-1 sessions as, "The best ever networking event I've been to."
